Monovision Correction

Monovision correction is when the dominant eye is corrected for distance vision and the nondominant eye is corrected for near vision. Your doctor and their staff can easily measure eye dominance in the office for Monovision correction candidates. These patients have a greatly reduced dependence on glasses. Monovision correction can be achieved with standard, intraocular lenses (monofocal lens implant) in both eyes. A certain percentage of individuals cannot tolerate monovision correction, thus, this type of vision is best simulated with contacts lenses prior to making it permanent. Monovision eye surgery can also be performed through LASIK or ASA.
